GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose is to bridge the gap between the business and technology functions within the organization. The position will manage and optimize the financial aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that manages various aspects of the County’s business operations. The position is responsible for configuring the software to align with the organization’s specific requirements and processes.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
• Manages and analyzes the financial and accounting processes of the organization.
• Works closely with Finance and Accounting team to identify areas where the ERP solution can be used to improve processes.
• Works with Finance and Accounting to understand requirements, processes and reporting needs.
• Gathers detailed requirements from the finance and accounting stakeholders to ensure the ERP solution aligns with the business needs.
• Responsible for providing support to the ERP community, addressing issues, answering questions, and providing training as needed.
• Designs solutions within the ERP System to address business challenges.
• Collaborates with the IT Solutions Architect to tailor the system to the specific needs of finance.
• Responsible for generating routine financial reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
• Manages finance processes and data within the ERP so they are compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
• Responsible for conducting testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to validate changes to the system that are accurate and meet business needs.
• Responsible for finance processes and data within the ERP that are compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manages the implementation, maintenance and system testing of the system including enhancements and upgrades within finance functions.
• Responsible for requirement gathering, process design, system configurations, testing, documentation and support.
• Works with government leaders and end-users to understand current business processes, develop future processes with next generation systems/applications and successfully support end-users.
• Performs related work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Experience in the current ERP software solution.
• Excellent understanding in financial accounting, data management, data analysis, ERP systems, financial regulations, and reporting and analytics.
• Meticulous attention to detail crucial in ensuring accurate configuration and data integrity within the ERP system.
• Proficiency in creating business requirements, business process mapping and workflow.
• Must have the ability to visualize financial data in support of Financial Management Reporting.
• Knowledge and experience with budget planning and integration with the General Ledger.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including finance professionals, IT personnel, and system users.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment.
• Must possess strong technical and analytical skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or Computer Science or related discipline. Five (5) years of progressively responsible ERP Finance functional experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
