RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This person will lead specific projects on behalf of the County while working with leadership and project team to further develop the project management office. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

 

TYPICAL TASKS:

 

  • Manage specific projects utilizing Project Management Institute practices
  • Contribute heavily to the development of a Project Management Office 
  • Manage relationships with client, third-parties, and stakeholders
  • Conduct updates and manage escalations to management as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Demonstrated hands-on project management experience.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks and issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, and three years of demonstrated project management experience.

 

PREFERRED:

 

  • Project management experience in an Information Technology department.
  • Project management and information technology experience within a Public Sector organization
  • Project management training or certificate (PMP preferred)
