RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Business Systems Analyst will partner with the County's business units and functional areas within County Government to assist with Microsoft 0365 SharePoint, Teams, Automate, PLanner, Stream, Live-Events, Project On-line and Power BIdeployments.

The Business Systems Analyst will also partner with the County’s business units and functional areas within County Government to assist with custom development, commercial off the shelf and cloud service deployments.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Requirements Management - Gathers and understands business needs by collaborating with customers to document and prioritize requirements from the departments.
  • Business Process Improvements - Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate sessions with the business to identify and drive complete requirements. Document requirements and workflow diagrams with focus on process improvements and ensure timely stakeholder sign off.
  • Project Management – Works with BRM and Project Managers to organize and manage project documents that govern the lifecycle of project execution in a central location for easy access by external stakeholders and the project team.
  • Training - Contributes to creating and maintaining training materials as well as conducting training for new capability or enhancement implementations. Prepares end-user procedures and manuals and may assist with end-user training for new business processes.
  • Technical Writing – Contributes to creating and maintaining, project intake documents, technical user manuals, operation manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Reporting - Perform complex reporting queries. Interpret and analyze data, understanding the data to highlight opportunities. Present data in a meaningful way, formulate recommendations that drive key business decisions. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns.

  • Fundamental knowledge of the Microsoft O365 platform, required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with manager (s) and team members regarding opportunities and provide recommendations for adjustments.
  • Ability to make on-the-spot decisions with sound judgment that align with team and business goals, supporting county values. Identifies business opportunities or solutions to complex business problems and helps determine the optimum investment path for the enterprise including implementation of new business and technical solutions.
  • Ability to conduct face-to-face or virtual meeting for gathering business requirements within the County.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and break down barriers with innovation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high demand and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to work in a telework environment due to the pandemic.
  • Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact-finding skills.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in business administration, computer science, management information systems or a related field.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating them into high-level designs for application development and or configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft O365 including SharePoint, Teams, Automate, Planner, Stream, Live-Events Project On-line and Power BI.
  • Effective communicator, excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in technical writing and web content development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with data, developing progress indicators and learning outcomes.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire technical and business process knowledge and skills quickly.
  • Excellent and concise analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to complete business documentation and writing skills required.
  • Experience managing multi-faceted assignments to defined objectives and deadlines.
  • Project management certificate desired.
