RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Provides independent administrative and technical direction as the Project Coordinator for the Reliability and Resiliency Program for the Durham County Triangle Wastewater Treatment Plant and the associated collection system. Performs technical work in risk reduction project management.  This work will include evaluating facilities for critical risk, developing priority list for projects, developing bids and proposals for projects, project inspection and management, operation manual development, staff training, and project closeouts. Additional work will involve assisting the Senior Project Manager with site plan and construction drawing review for new development and determining hydraulic impacts of proposed developments on the TWWTP and the collection system.  Performs related tasks as required.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Thorough knowledge of methods, practices, techniques and terminology of engineering, architecture and construction
  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials, engineering plans, specifications and drawings
  • Thorough knowledge of building regulations, standards and related codes
  • Ability to prepare bid documents
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and blueprints
  • Ability to maintain accurate records

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in physical sciences, engineering, planning, architecture or related field.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. 

 

PREFERRED:

 

Experience in wastewater treatment design or collection system design or construction is preferred.
